Our Special Day
“Come along with us as Brandalynn and Matthew walk the yellow brick road into their new life.”
Walking our Yellow Brick Road
Milestones on the way to “I do.” Below, the road flows downward with little snapshots of our relationship.

Our First Date
We went to 'Two Guys from Italy' an italian restaurant in Irving, TX. There's a little corner table for two there draped in vines and seperated from the other tables. Matthew's Dad had always told him to take a special girl there and "you'll sweep her off her feet in a heartbeat." That's exactly what happened!

Our First Easter
Our families have different Easter traditions. Brandalynn’s is a camping trip with family friends. Matthew’s is church and brunch with the Myers crew. We needed to do both, so we packed everything for two celebrations, got ready in the campground bathrooms before sunrise, and hit the road. That day showed us we can work well as a team and even under stress still have smiles on our faces. FYI. Brandalynn picked my outfit to match hers that day, and she has been styling me ever since.

Our First Trip
Matthew loves stars and space and he always wanted to show Brandalynn the stars & planets through his telescope. So he planned a surprise trip for her to Lake Tawakoni to go camp away from the light pollution of DFW. This led to one of our first inside jokes, we couldn't remember Tawakoni, so we kept calling it Lake Tawakawak. Matthew woke Bebe up at 4am to look at Saturn because it was finally visible, while Bebe looked in awe at the beautiful planet; Matthew looked at her with the same awe & wonder.

First Christmas
Christmas has always been a family first holiday for both of our families, but still we were both greeted with open arms, good tidings and love. Matthew's family embraced Bebe and showered her with love, and gifts & food, but most importantly love. Brandalynn's family did the same for Matthew. It really felt like we each belonged in each other's families, and It showed us both how much we love our families.

One Year Anniversary
For our one year anniversary we took a plane ride over the Dallas skyline and ate dinner on the runway. Unfortunately we couldn't do it on the day of our anniversary due to inclement weather. We had so much fun, and Brandalynn was terrified because she had no idea where he was taking her until we got there. Hilariously most people that saw this post on facebook thought Matthew proposed then, Brandalynn also thought Matthew was going to propose then!

The Proposal
From our first year anniversary we already knew we could spend the rest of our lives together. We spent the next two years getting closer to each other and our families, and building strong foundations for the rest of our relationship. Matthew decided by September of 2024 that he was going to propose to Brandalynn on their 3 year anniversary. He had planned an intricate hot air balloon proposal with all the family there, but just like in their 1 year anniversary inclement weather struck and delayed the hot air balloon. Matthew couldn't wait any longer, the ring was burning a whole in his pocket, and the secret was starting to get out, so he made a plan with the help of his family to have it at the next family Easter.
We met at church when we were kids, started dating in college, revolved our relationship with God & family so it only seemed right to start the next chapter of our lives together with God & family.
