Our Special Day
“Come along with us as Brandalynn and Matthew walk the yellow brick road into their new life.”
Walking our Yellow Brick Road
Milestones on the way to “I do.” Below, the road flows downward with little snapshots of our relationship.
-
Our First Date
Matthew took Brandalynn to a small italian restaurant in Irving, TX called Two Guys from Italy. There's a little corner table for two there draped in vines and seperated from the other tables. Matthew's dad had always told him to take a special girl there and "you'll sweep her off her feet in a heartbeat." That's exactly what he did!

Our First Easter
Easter brought two traditions together: camping in Hickory Creek with Brandalynn’s family and church in Haslet with Matthew’s. Determined to share both, they rose before sunrise, got ready at the campsite, and set off for Haslet. That day showed Bebe & Matthew that they can work well as a team and even under stress still have smiles on their faces. "Brandalynn picked my outfit to match hers that day, and she's been styling me ever since."-Matthew

Our First Trip
Matthew has always been passionate about space and he wanted to share that passion with Brandalynn, so he planned a surprise camping trip away from the lights of the city to give her the best views through his telescope. They went to Lake Tawakoni which led to one of their first inside jokes, they couldn't remember "Tawakoni", so they kept calling it "Lake Tawakawak". Matthew woke Bebe up at 4am to look at Saturn because it was finally visible, while Bebe looked in awe at the beautiful planet; Matthew looked at her with the same awe & wonder.
-
First Christmas
Christmas has always been a family-only holiday for both of their families, despite that they were greeted with open arms, good tidings and love. Matthew’s family embraced Bebe, showering her with love, gifts, and, most importantly, food; Brandalynn's family did the same for Matthew. As Brandalynn poured herself into her family and Matthew into his, they recognized the same devotion in each other, and their connection deepened.

One Year Anniversary
For their one year anniversary they took a plane ride over the Dallas skyline and ate dinner on the runway. Matthew had kept the whole thing secret, so Brandalynn was anxious of what he might have planned. Hilariously most people that saw this post on facebook thought Matthew proposed then, Brandalynn also thought Matthew was going to propose!
-
The Proposal
From their first anniversary they already knew they could spend the rest of their lives together. They spent the next two years getting closer to each other and their families, and building strong foundations for the rest of their relationship. Matthew decided by September of 2024 that he was going to propose to Brandalynn on their third anniversary. He had planned an intricate hot air balloon proposal, but just like on their first anniversary inclement weather forced a delay. Matthew couldn't wait any longer; the ring was burning a whole in his pocket, and the secret was starting to spread, so, with the help from both families, they moved the proposal to the next Myers Easter.
We met at church when we were kids, started dating in college, revolved our relationship with God & family so it only seemed right to start the next chapter of our lives together with God & family.
